Former local boxing star Boone Kirkman has a mural to match his larger-than-life past

Renton’s Boone Kirkman, who was one of the best heavyweight boxers in the world in the late 1960s and early 1970s, fought some of the game’s best, including George Foreman and Ken Norton. Kirkman stands in front of a mural of himself painted on the side of the La Hacienda Santa Fe restaurant on South 3rd Street in Renton. The mural was dedicated to Kirkman last November.
